Alexander Kühne, Dipl.-Pol.

studied political science in Halle (Saale) and San Francisco and gained practical political experience in the district and parliamentary office of Jim McDermott (Democrat in the 7th District in Washington State) in Seattle and Washington D.C. After his graduation, he was a research assistant for six years at the Chair of Government and Policy Research at the Institute of Political Science at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, including a research stay at the Weidenbaum Center on the Economy, Government, and Public Policy at Washington University in St. Louis. Kühne took part in the research projects CITREP ("Citizens and Representatives in France and Germany"), a German-French project at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, as well as on the candidate selection project for the 2017 federal election of the IParl (#BuKa2017). Since 2009, Alexander Kühne has been working as an editorial assistant for the "Zeitschrift für Parlamentsfragen" (Journal of Parliamentary Affairs).

His research and teaching areas range from parliaments, the theory and empirical study of Political Representation, and the political systems of both Germany and the USA.
