The Institute for Parliamentary Research (IParl) is an establishment of the Foundation for Science and Democracy. With the aim of anchoring and further developing the democratic order in society, the IParl is dedicated to researching democratic representation and legitimisation in its foundations as well as in its details. Particular emphasis is placed on realistic empirical research that contributes to communicating the complex form of government of parliamentary democracy and has an impact in practice through dialogue with political actors and institutions.

We share our findings in the context of science communication and via our Podcast to the public. The professional exchange with colleagues from the research community is facilitated by our Colloquium.
As an independent research organisation, we also see ourselves as a place for exchange with political practice. In this capacity, we have, among other things Mongolian government on questions of coalition formation as experts in dialogue with the ODIHR Election Observation Mission in Germany and have contributed to the preparation of Indicators of good parliamentary work by the Interparliamentary Union contributed.
