With the aim of anchoring and developing the democratic order in society, the Institute for Parliamentary Research is dedicated to - researching parliamentary representation, both in its fundamentals as well as its details.

The research emphasises reality-based, empirical methods and aims to help explain the complexities of parliamentary democracy. It maintains practical impact through dialogue with political actors and institutions.

The Institute for Parliamentary Research (IParl) is an establishment of the Foundation for Science and Democracy. It was founded on 1 April 2016 in Halle (Saale) and has been based in Berlin-Mitte since 1 November 2018.
